Kia Ora! (Hello!)
My name is Melissa Yago and I am currently a sophomore that is majoring in finance, marketing, management & international business. While it may seem hectic to study various majors, I take great pride in my education to learn as much as I can in preparation for my career in the world of business. Next semester, I am extremely excited to be studying abroad in New Zealand and will be attending the University of Auckland. This blog will document my journey before, during and after so you can get a glimpse of what New Zealand is like if you were to study abroad there. I look forward to sharing with everyone my experiences! My study abroad to New Zealand would not have been possible without the support of Mr. William Johnson. With the Johnson scholarship, I am able to pursue my dreams of studying in one of the most elite universities in New Zealand that excels in its business program. Furthermore, I hope to broaden my international perspective in the business field while immersing myself in the Maori language and culture. Having this opportunity of a lifetime means the world to me and I would like to extend a huge mahalo to Mr. Johnson for making it a dream come true. As a Johnson scholar, I am eager to take in all the learning experiences New Zealand has to offer me as well as having the chance to help out future business students who wish to study abroad. Again, thank you so much Mr. Johnson for your kindness and generosity and I am greatly honored to be a recipient of your scholarship. Very Respectfully, Melissa Yago
